An evening with Ted Koppel

Before last night i had only a general idea who ted koppel was. The discussion started a little later then the scheduled 730 start time. I guess pruis hall was full because they sent the overflow of people to the teachers college which is where i watched the presentation from. Ted seemed like a very knowledgeable person and mentioned his status about our national debt by saying, "Our Country is in Deep trouble.... and it is getting worse." He also mentioned something that i did not know which was that we have spent between 1 and 2 trillion dollars on the war in iraq and Afghanistan. He gave 2 ways to fix the debt, Raise Taxes, Cut Entitlements, and Print more money. None of which would have positive outcomes. He also stated that the war in Afghanistan is caused by the Nuclear weapons in Pakistan. Overall I thought he did a very good job and am glad i got an opportunity to hear him speak.

  1. You remember a lot of his main points. I'd be interested in how it was watching the presentation from the Teachers' College instead of in person. Where in the TC did you watch it? Was there a big crowd there too? Did the audience seem as interested in the presentation since they were off site?
